Analysis of IBPS CWE Clerk Examination Question Paper

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is the central agency, which is responsible for recruiting candidates in the nationalized banks. There is a huge requirement of human resource in the public sector banks in India at present and the agency is fulfilling the needs of the industry by regularly recruiting the candidates. IBPS recruits candidates through Common Written Examination and Personal Interview. The examination conducted nationwide through online mode and the questions are framed from the sections like Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, General Awareness and Computer Ability. Each of the section comprises 40 marks and the overall test comprises 200 marks. Candidates have to finish the test in 2 hours or 120 minutes.

Analysis Based on Previous Year's Question Papers

Reasoning : The difficulty level of the questions remains moderate in this section. Several books are available in the market for guiding the candidates on this section. Questions in the section are framed on the topics like near arrangements, complex arrangements, circular arrangements, codes based statements and conclusions, data sufficiency, letter symbol coding, alpha numeric series, directions, and syllogisms. Students really need to maintain the proper time limit that they should devote a particular question.

Quantitative Aptitude :

Previous year, the quantitative aptitude section saw a quiet difficult paper. There was a judicious mix of BODMAS, number series, typical arithmetic problems and much more. There were around 15-17 questions based on BODMAS and its approximations. Candidates need to be very clear about the basics of mathematics in order to crack this section. 15 questions in the section are based on general mathematics and contains questions on the topics like profit and loss, time and distance, simple and compound interests, etc. Time again plays an important role in completing this section.

English Language :

In this section, questions are framed from the topics like reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, etc., when it comes to test the overall knowledge of the candidates about the language. The difficulty level of the questions may be from easy to moderate. Ten questions are framed from the topic reading comprehension. Other topics from which the questions are framed are Cloze passage, jumble sentences, fill in the blanks, etc.

General Awareness :

This section contains questions vastly on the topics like banking and finance sector. The importance is given to banking policies and its products. Candidates, who are appear of the present banking sector, find it easy to attempt the questions in less time.

Computer Awareness :

This section contains questions based on the basic computer skills. Candidates must possess knowledge of hardware and software in order to get good marks in this section. Lot of questions are framed from the topic MS-Office. Other topics from which the questions are framed are operating system, window applications, Internet applications, etc.
