Engineering Branches that Can Get You Employed in the Government Sector

Students from Science Stream (Physics, Chemistry, Math and Biology) have multiple career options available after senior secondary class. Engineering is one of the most opted and promising course after completing senior secondary education. But due to job saturation in the companies in the present scenario, getting a good job even after completing his/her engineering with good marks seems difficult. Every year lacs of students pass out from engineering colleges/universities, but a very few of them get hired by any company in campus or off campus for a decent job. One way to get a good job is to pursue B.E/ B.Tech from less drenched branch or stream. Here, in this article we are discussing some of the branches of B.E/ B.Tech that can help you in getting a job in the Government Sector Job easily.

Electrical Branch: It is one of the most conventional and celebrated branch of engineering or say ever green branch engineering. Counted among the core branches, this can fetch you an employment in private sector as well in the public departments very easily. Electrical Engineers are required in every company like heavy duty industry and power generation industry. Graduates from this branch can apply for jobs in BSNL, BHEL, NHPC , DRDO, etc.

Mechanical Branch: This is also a traditional and core branch of B.Tech. Mechanical is student’s favorite branch. It is counted among the most valuable branches and can get an employment in the public sector easily. Students, who have completed their B. Tech. mechanical from this branch, can apply for the jobs in Indian Air force, Indian Railway, Indian Army, BHEL, etc.

Chemical Branch: When looked from the career perspective, chemical branch of B.Tech. can be very promising one. This is one of the most difficult courses. There are several job options available for the Chemical Engineers. They can get a job in IOC, Refineries, ONGC, Fertilizer Corporation of India, DRDO, etc.

Civil Branch: Counted among the core branches of engineering, Civil Engineers can get a job in the public sector. Government needs civil engineers to build buildings/ bridges / structures / flyovers and also for their maintenance and repair. Graduates from Civil branch may apply for the jobs in NHAI, Indian Railways and PWD etc.

Electronics and Communications Branch: This branch is not as promising one as the above discussed branches, but still there are some there are certain government jobs available for the graduates of EC engineering. Indian Navy, Indian Army, BSNL, Indian Air Force, DRDO, etc. are some of the public sector companies that offers job to EC engineers.

Petroleum Branch: There are several government undertakings and organizations that offer jobs to the Petroleum engineering degree holders. They can get job in Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, GAIL, etc.

Biotechnology Branch: This is not as popular a branch of engineering as the above discussed other branch, but still it has enormous potential. Graduates from biotechnology branch may get employment with the organizations engaged in carrying out research. Some such organizations are Forensic Department, DRDO etc.

Food Processing and Technology Branch: This branch is all about the processing, production and packaging of food, and also about the inventing new techniques that aid in carrying out these activities.
