How to Get Sure Success in IBPS Examination

IBPS (Institute of Banking Personal Selection) Exam is one of the most prominent examination in the banking sector. Every year, IBPS Exam is conducted for the post of clerk, probationary officer (PO) and specialist officer and millions of candidates apply online for these examination, but a very few of them get success. As bank jobs are among the most reputed and desired job in India, competition has increased manifolds in this sector. Approximately, 20 lakhs students appear in IBPS examination, every time it is conducted. Before starting preparation for IBPS, it is very important for the aspirants to understand that what IBPS Examination, exactly is. Its recruitment process involves three levels, i.e. Preliminary Written Exam (PWE), Main Written Exam (CWE) and Personal Interview (PI). Contenders, who clear PWE only, are eligible to appear in CWE.

Preliminary Written Test (PWE): Duration of this exam is One Hour in which condidates are given 100 multiple choice questions, each of one mark. This paper contains three sections English (30marks), Reasoning (35 marks) and Aptitude (35 marks).

Main Written Exam: Candidates are given 200 multiple questions online each of 1 mark. Paper is divided in five sections like General Awareness (40 marks), English (40 marks), Reasoning (50 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks) and Computer Knowledge (20 marks), which contenders have to do in two hours. Personal Interview: Candidates who clear Main Written Exam are called for the Personal Interview, which are conducted at the different centers of IBPS. They are asked simple questions related to banking and finance. If selected, they are provided with a provisional letter.

Tips to Prepare Sections of the Exam

General Awareness: It is one of the basic and marks gaining section of the paper, as the contenders don’t have to do any calculations in solving the questions of this part. If they know the answer, they can mark the correct answer within a second. They are advised to read newspapers and read magazines which cover the current topics on daily basis, in order to secure good marks in this section.

English Language: This is also a marks scoring section of the paper. Basic aim of this section is to analyze the proficiency and understanding of the candidate in language. Contenders should be very clear about the basic grammar rules to crack this section. They can solve previous year’s examination papers and can also take help of other available study material, in order to get a brief idea of this section and in order to score good in this part.

Quantitative Aptitude: This is one of the difficult parts of the paper, as it involves lots of calculation, it is very much time consuming. Good preparation, smart tricks and regular practice, is the mantra to clear this part. Candidates are advised to analyze their weaker areas of this section and should focus on attaining mastery over them, to get good marks in this section.

Computer Knowledge: Through this section examiner wants to test the computer skills and knowledge of the contenders. Good knowledge of computer basics is a must to achieve success in this part. Number books are available in the market, through which aspirants can prepare for this part.

Reasoning: One of the trickiest, time consuming and the most important section of the paper is reasoning. Through hard work, good practice and easy tricks to solve the questions, students can easily score well in this subject. Aspirants are advised to not to devote much time to a question, if they feel confused in it, they should move to the next question.
