How to Prepare for GD/PI Round?

GD/PI is the last round of the recruitment process of SBI PO by cracking which candidates can get job of their dream in the largest commercial bank of India. Below we are providing some of the tips, which will help the candidates in cracking this round easily.

Think Logically and Rationally During the Time of GD:

Candidates are given some time to write down their points on the topic before the discussion over the topic starts. They need to write the points which they can back up with some examples.

Keep Yourself Updates with Current Events:

This is very important to keep a tab on the current events so that you can relate the topic you are given at the time of discussion with the current events.

Be Concise and Clear:

The first thing which is expected from the candidates at the time of GD is to argue with valid points. They should be able to present their point of view clearly and concisely. You are not expected to make any personal attacks and invalid argument during the time of GD as this is not expected from you as a banker.

It is not Necessary to Intiate:

This is the biggest myth prevailing among the candidates. This is not always necessary for the candidates to initate the discussion as this is not practically possible. There will be around 12-15 candidates at the time of GD and if everybody will try to start the discussion then it will look like a wrestling match.

Try to Prove the Points in the Discussion:

You should try to prove the points raised in the discussion as this pleases the panel. This gives them the image that you have paid attention to the whole discussion.

Prepare in Front of Mirror:

This practice is for the candidates, who fear to speak up in front of other people. By speaking as much as possible by looking into your eyes in front of the mirror, you will be able to gain confidence.

Be True:

Do not try to be what you are not in front of the interview panel. They are experienced and will get to know immediately each and every lie you tell. So, you need to be true to yourself in order to crack this round.

Knowledge about the Basic of the Sector:

Candidates appearing in front of the panel should be aware of the the basics of the sector or industry they want to enter in. So, candidates must have knowledge about the current events related to banking industry.
