How to Score Good Marks in English Section in IBPS PO Examination?

English Language is on of the section in IBPS examination, which is feared by the most of the candidates as they do not possess enough knowledge of the language. English paper is made compulsory for almost every competitive examination in India. So, there is no escape from this paper for the candidates, who are preparing for competitive examinations. They need to possess proper knowledge about the subject in order to clear the test and score more marks in the examination. In IBPS examination this paper is included in both the tiers i.e. Preliminary and Mains Examination. It comprises 30 or 40 marks. This subject can be very scoring if candidates know about the grammar basics and sentence formation. The paper is included in the test to check knowledge of the candidates of grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension. Although very simple questions are asked in the section, but it needs proper knowledge of the subject in order to answer those questions correctly. To clear IBPS PO examination, candidates not only need to clear overall cut off but also sectional cut off. Don't be afraid of the Subject:

Most of the candidates fear of this language because they haven't got proper training and knowledge of the language due to which their basics remain weak. This creates a problem for them in understanding the sentence structure and formation. The language becomes a challenge for them and they start feeling afraid of it. To attain good marks in this section, candidates need to clear their basics and devote more time in practicing it. They can join coaching classes for the subject to gain proficiency over the subject.

Develop Reading Habit:

In order gain expertise over the language, candidates should indulge in healthy reading and writing habit. Practice of reading and writing on regular basis will help the candidates in enhancing their vocabulary and confidence. By doing this they will be able to achieve command over the subject.

Begin with Reading Comprehension:

It is advisable for the candidates to begin the section with reading comprehension questions. Although reading a comprehension and attempting questions consume a great amount of time, but it is necessary to attempt this part in the beginning to avoid making chaos in the end. Aspirants are advised to solve comprehension passages from mock test papers to attempt comprehension section well.

Practice the Words You have Learnt:

Candidates should take in use the words which they have learnt recently. They should try to know about the different meanings of these words and should also try to formulate sentences by using these. This will enhance their vocabulary and will also help them in sentence formation.

Stay Confident:

If you are confident about yourself then half the battle is already won. If you feel afraid of the language then it is not going to hel you in any way. So, candidates really need to possess confidence and self belief in order to achieve good marks in the paper. They need to have faith in their preparation and knowledge.
