Millions of candidates take competitive examinations of banking sector for clerks, probationary officers and specialist officers, every year. Simple qualification, which is required to take the test for banking job is graduation but due to financial meltdown in the last sector, candidates possessing higher education than required are also taking part in the examination. Candidates from engineering background and possessing MBA degree are also participating in the competitive examination due to the sense of financial security associated with these jobs. Suggestions for Over Qualified Candidates

Know about Lower Salary:

Candidates possessing degrees like B.Tech, M.B.A, etc. have high chances of getting jobs, which offer higher salary and reputation than bank clerk. Although, if the candidates wish to join the bank as Specialist Officer or Probationary Officer, then it will be better for them as they will be getting handsome salary at these posts.

Act Wisely During Interview:

Do not boast about your higher education in front of the interviewers as this can go against you during the interview and can become the cause for you for not getting selected. Interview panel will already have questions regarding your intentions of joining the bank job, in spite of your professional education.

Present Yourself Clearly:

Over qualified candidates must be able to explain the interviewers that why in spite of their higher education they want to join the bank job.

Show Your Interest in the Job:

Interviewers must not feel that you will get bore of the job in course of time. They should feel that you are really very passionate about the job and will always perform your job duties with the utmost honesty. Candidates are put on 6 months to 2 years probation period depending on their job position, so they must not leave job during probation and they have to present three months notice to the bank before leaving the job.

Obtain NOC from Previous Company:

If before joining the bank you were working with some company or organization, then in that case you need to present No Objection Certificate from that company to the bank. During the interview they will be asked for NOC.
