IBPS has recently issued an employment notification for recruiting the candidates for the clerical posts. As the name suggests itself this examination is conducted in order to recruit the aspirants in the Clerical Cadre in several nationalized banks across the nation. Vacancies are released in large number and so the competition is also tougher than before. Certain myths are there related to this post, due to which candidates fail to get selected on this post. Exam is Easy: Candidates think that this examination is easy as the aspirants are recruited for clerical cadre and the vacancies are huge. But this is not true as the more number of vacancies means more competition. So, in order to get recruited for the post in a reputed bank one need to prepare for the examination really well.

Reasoning and Quantitative Sections are Easier:

Those days have passed a long ago, when the aspirants could solve the questions from these sections by only looking at them. Due to quant and resoning sections most of the candidates fail to clear the examination. Both these sections comprise a lot of tricky questions that are time consuming. If candidates indulge in solving them for long, then they fail to give time to other sections.

Coaching is Necessary:

For clearing any examination coaching is not necessary. Aspirants can prepare for the examination by themselves through proper preparation strategy, time management and confidence. It totally depends upon the candidates whether they want to take coaching or not. Moreover, several books and mock test papers are available online today. They can opt best study material for themselves from these.

You Should be Good in Mathematics:

Some candidates think that if they are good in Mathematics then they can crack the examination easily but the truth is that they need to be good in every subject to crack the examination. You have to prepare every section equally to break the cut-off. Most of the candidates fail to clear the test due to their negligence towards a particular subject.

Attempts Matter:

This is the biggest myth that the aspirants have in their mind, whereas what really matters is accuracy. If you attempt more and more questions without giving attention to accuracy, then will not come out with flying colours. Without accuracy if candidates attempt even 100% questions then also they will not be able to clear the test. So, they should focus on accuracy rather than attempts.

General Awareness Section Depends on Luck:

This is not so as there are certain prescribed areas from which the questions are framed in the section. So, candidates should not depend on the luck in order to get good marks in this section. As this section is really scoring and is not time consuming, candidates should prepare it well. They should prepare the prescribed topics and syllabus.
