Time Management Strategies for SBI PO Main Examination

SBI recruits Probationary Officers through preliminary written examination and main written examination. The questions in both the exams are framed from same subjects but what makes them different is the level of difficulty of questions. Therefore, candidates need to do more hard work to clear main examination. Time management is a major factor, which helps the candidates to achieve success in any competitive examination. They need to divide their time properly and have to give equal weightage to every section of paper. They should not undermine the value of any subject as this can have drastic affect on their overall result. The paper includes Data Interpretation Analysis, Reasoning (Higher Level), Marketing and Computers, English Language and General Awareness. Each of these sections contains 50 questions of one mark each and 0.25 marks get deducted for every wrong answer. Aspirants are given 2 hours to complete the exam and they need to be really fast and have to solve the questions in seconds.

Time for Reasoning Sections:

This section needs lot of attention from the candidates as the questions are really very tricky and can consume time if candidates have not done proper practice. It thus needs hard work and proper preparation to attempt this section well and get good marks. Candidates need to device short tricks and methods in order to answer the questions in less time. This will help the candidates in saving the time for other sections.

Data Interpretation and Analysis:

As the name suggests, this section test the analytical power of a candidate. This part needs to be managed very cleverly as any kind of analysis needs time to be done. Questions are framed from the topics like pie chart, probability series, graphs, etc. You need to apply certain formulas and tricks to solve questions in less time. Candidates are advised to not guess the answers as it may result in wrong answer and there you have to lose the marks.

General Awareness, Computers and Marketing:

This section comprises questions from three different subjects and so, it becomes really challenging to attain good marks in this particular section. Although, if candidates have done good preparation, this section can fetch them really good marks without even devoting much time. You need to solve practice sets and have to remain updated with the latest happenings on the national and international level to attain good marks in this section.

English Language:

Getting good marks is easy in this section, if the candidates have good command over the basics, grammar and vocabulary of English. Candidates need to solve practice sets, comprehensions and have to develop healthy reading habit in order to achieve proficiency over this section. Regular practice and understanding of the language are the only keys to attain good marks in this section.
