When it comes to choose between SSC CGL and Bank PO, it becomes difficult for everybody to decide which one is the best among these. Several aspirants think that SSC CGL is better career option for them and some prefer Bank PO. When it comes to females it depends on one choice and personality to decide the best career for them.

Through SSC CGL Examination, candidates for several Central Government Departments like CBI, Central Secretariat Services, CAG, Ministry of Railways, Statistical Investigator, Commission, AO, Central Vigilance, Excise Inspector, Intelligence Bureau, etc. are selected. And through IBPS and SBI candidates for banking jobs are recruited.

Job Security: In terms of security both the jobs are safe and secure and the person will be working under several departments under Central Government.

Career Growth:

Through SSC CGL, the candidates can reach at the top position of Secretary to the Government of India. IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and other officers at equivalent positions occupy the post of secretary. On the other hand, Bank PO is the highest entry level post in the banking industry. Through this post, the candidates can reach up to the position of CMD and CEO. In banking industry promotions take place at a higher pace in comparison to SSC CGL. If a girl is capable of leading any department then she should go for SSC CGL.

Job/Office Timings:

Timings in most of the jobs offered through SSC CGL is 10-5 pm. However, the timing in the banking job is also the same but due to work pressure it becomes impossible for the bank PO to leave the office on time. Timings under SSC CGL jobs are appropriate for a girl as they have to manage both their job and home related work. It is due to social system in India. As SSC CGL is completely a government job the promotions are delayed.

Pay Structure:

After the introduction of 7th pay commission the salary in both SSC CGL and Bank POs are almost the same. If one considers the earnings, then Bank Po jobs are more profitable than any SSC recruit. If anybody wants to earn more and more money than he/she should work in any Public Sector Bank and then should switch to Private bank. One cannot make such jumps in case of SSC CGL.

Working Pressure:

It is less in SSC CGL jobs in comparison to Bank PO jobs. As the bank PO has to do public dealings on daily basis, the work pressure is considerable higher in this job than SSC CGL.

Transfers and postings:

In SSC CGL transfer generally takes place in every 4-5 years excluding CSS posts. The candidates, who get recruited through SSC CGL mostly have to stay in Metropolitan cities or state capitals. While Bank Pos can get posted in rural areas as well.
