Over the last few years, banking has provided several job opportunities to the aspiring youths of the country, who wishes to join Government sector and secure their future. It has also given rise to the number of candidates participating in the recruitment of these jobs. There is an increased craze for getting these jobs among the aspirants for the last few years. SSC jobs are also the most sought after jobs along with bank jobs. Millions of candidates participate in SSC examinations, in oder to get a job in several government departments and ministries. The social status and security attached with the job lure several aspirants to participate in the recruitment procedure.
All the people like to be posted as per their own choices and also want to do the work according to their choice. Measuring the common interest of the people is very difficult. Whereas the people like the SSC CGL jobs due to social status and comfort associated with these jobs on the other hand due to better career growth prospects people like Banking jobs. There are several other factors that are associated with these jobs, which make these jobs good or bad and this depends totally over the choices of the aspirants, who are about to take up the job after going through the competitive examination.
After the 10th bipartite agreement, the salary of a Bank PO has risen up to Rs. 40,000- 50,000/- p.m, which is very much higher than the salary of excise inspector or income tax officer. Being a PO the employee get high salary package and lucrative career growth options. Being a PO, aspirants are also not transferred frequently. They also can get posted in the nearby branch of their hometown, but in the case of SSC jobs chances of getting transferred near to the hometown is quite low.
Candidates are transferred across the country at regular intervals during their service period. In SSC jobs the fast track promotion policy is also missing which is enjoyed by bank PO. Avenues for getting promoted to higher posts are relatively less in SSC jobs in comparison to Bank jobs. After completing 3-4 years in the service the candidates can get promoted to managerial post in the bank. However, bank jobs have no match of the social status and respect, which are attached with SSC CGL jobs. Bank Pos are put on the probation period of two years, which is not the case with SSC jobs.
