Things to Do and Not to Do During SSC CGL Online Examination

Authority has changed some of the rules and regulations attached with the examination. Following the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of removing the interview round from the selection procedure of Group C and Group D posts under the Central Government, the commission has changed the whole pattern of the examination and has included descriptive paper as well in the pattern. The most important change which has been made by the commission is to turn two tier written examinations online. This change has made many aspiring candidates uncomfortable as they are not very comfortable with using the computers. The pattern of Tier I examination has also been changed. So, now the candidates need to prepare for the examination keeping in view the changes introduced by the commission.

Things One should Do during the SSC Online Examination

  • They must take a glance of the questions before starting solving them as now the exam will be conducted online.
  • In Tier I examination, there will be 100 question from the sections like General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, English Comprehension and Quantitative Aptitude. Each question comprises of 2 marks and there is negative marking of 0.50 marks for marking every wrong answer. So, the candidates need to answer the questions carefully.

  • They need to pay attention to the time factor as only 75 minutes will be given to the candidates to complete 100 questions. So, candidates should start preparing for the examination keeping in view this time constraint. They must devote equal time to each and every subject, in order to score good marks.
  • After cracking the two tier written examination, candidates need to undertake an offine descriptive examination in Hindi/English, which is of 100 marks and they have to complete it in 60 minutes. The candidates need to read the questions carefully and write the points in short, which they know about the topic. They should not start writing the answers just after reading the answers.
  • Candidates must practice using the computers comfortably before appearing for the examination. If they are proficient in operating the computers, then they will be able to complete the test on time.

Things One should not Do during the Examination

  • Candidates should not feel afraid of new pattern and mode of examination. They must practice online mock tests before appearing for the examination to gain confidence.
  • They should not feel nervous on seeing the paper instead they should look at the questions carefully and try to find out the answers through the preparation they have done till now.
  • Candidates must not bring any electronic device like calculator, mobile, camera, etc. during the examination. This may result in the cancellation of their candidature for the examination.
  • They should indulge in practice of cheating from any source.
  • They should not do any kind of guess work as this may result in unnecessary deduction of marks.
  • They should keep a view on time while solving their paper. They must not devote too much time to any single question.
