Government jobs are considered to be one of most prestigious and promising career options by the youngsters. Every year millions of aspirants try their luck to get a government job, but due to increased competition in the sector, only few are able to crack the examination. Several jobs in the departments and ministries of Central Government are offered through Staff Selection Commission, which is the central recruitment agency of the Government of India. The most prestigious recruitment examination conducted by SSC is SSC CGL examination. For appearing in this test, the minimum required education is Graduation. Staff Selection Commission was established in the year 1975 and it recruits candidates under Group C and Non-Technical posts. SSC CGL is one of the largest competitive examinations, which is conducted in our country. According to statistics, approximately 12 lakh candidates apply for this examination each year for 20,000 odd posts. This one of toughest competitive examinations as well. It needs constant practice and determination on the part of the aspirants to crack this examination.
As the candidates, who get selected for the job get lucrative salary and also several other perks, cracking the examination is really tough. For applying for this test, candidates need to go through the official advertisement thoroughly. Then they need to apply in the prescribed format and upload signature and pass post size picture in order to complete the online application procedure. Then candidates are issued admit cards on the website of the agency, which they need to download in order to get entry in the examination hall.

Selection through SSC is based on the written examination namely preliminary examination and main written examination followed by personal interview. Candidates have to first clear the preliminary examination in order to qualify for the main written examination. The preliminary examination comprises sections like General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. The main written examination comprises sections like Quantitative Abilities and English Comprehension. After clear both these examination, candidates are called for personal interview. For cracking the written examination candidates need to attain proficiency in coding decoding, blood relationships, analogies, Venn diagrams, ranking, etc. For general awareness section, they need to go through the happenings in the world and the country. And for English language section, they need to practice the basic rules of grammar and also have to increase their vocabulary to attain good marks.
