How to Top SSC CGL Examination?

Today in this article we will share a strategy to crack the SSC CGL Tier II in just one shot. As all you know that SSC CGL has declared the marks of the Tier I exam, so it is the right time to boost your preparation for Tier II and convert your hard work into your dream job. SSC CGL Exam is the most famous exam among students and many students are working hard to seize this marvelous opportunity, so without wasting time you should also start your preparation. Now around 1.5 lakhs students cleared the Tier I Exam, but only a few can make their name in the list, so the right approach with right strategy is needed to crack it.

What we need to crack SSC CGL tier II exam are:

  • Speed to solve questions in minimum time
  • Accuracy which makes a difference between successful candidate and failures
  • Concepts that provide base to short trick
  • Insight of solving easy questions first

Important Point:

  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in English and 0.50 marks for Quantitative Aptitude and Statistics.
  • There will be a gap of 2 hours between Quant and English exams. You must not get exhausted and prepare yourself to beat the heat in this time.
  • Paper-I & II are compulsory for all the categories of posts.

Tips to Score well in Tier II:

  • Syllabus and type of questions are similar in Tier I and Tier II and all of you works very hard during the Tier I Exam, so what special you needed for Tier II is to give sharp edge for your preparation and this can be achieve only through practice set and mock paper.
  • As Advanced math’s covers 50% questions in the paper, so practice it regularly, but it does not mean that you will skip all other topics.
  • Solve at least 10 practice(5 of each subject), practice set gives you speed and helps in handling the pressure during exam time
  • After checking solution of every test, analyses the questions which are time consuming for you and seems difficult in solving.
  • Try to solve questions with short trick and always solve questions of that type with a fixed method or short trick so that you can solve that type of questions within second.
  • If you encountered any new type of question in practice set, then jot down the questions and find a simple way to solve that questions.
  • Note down the questions in which you use long method or traditional approach to solve the questions, because these are questions which can affect your performance in exam.
  • In tier II questions type are same to Tier I but the level of questions changed so solving mock test make you acquaint with these types of questions.
  • Whenever you opt for new test then analyses whether you have repeated the same mistake and same traditional approach to solve questions that you use in the previous one.
  • Analyze the improvement in your performance with every mock.

  • During analysis of mock paper see whether you skip any questions which is easy and can be solve easily if it so then tries to remove these types of mistake.
  • Give proper time and attention while reading a question, in this way you can skip human error.
  • In English section, only three new topics are added in tier II syllabus i.e. Voice, Narration and para jumble
  • Voice and narration are scoring as they are totally based on rules and one can score easily in these topics on behalf of hard work and practice.
  • Try to solve maximum questions in first half, to reduce pressure.
  • Improve your reading habit as 50-55 marks are based on your reading habit, (Reading Comprehension and Cloze Test)
  • Whenever you solve practice set attempt questions in the same way which you are going to use in the mains exam.
  • By doing this you will become familiar with every question and can keep track of your time easily.
  • Your time of solving mock paper must be like the timing of the SSC, in this way your mind get habitual to that time.
  • In this way, you will not feel pressure during the exam time, because you will feel this as your daily activity and perform better in exam
  • Revision is the key to success, so keep revising the formulas of quant section and English language on daily basis will boost your preparation
  • Try to perform some light exercises and physical activity, as it keeps your mind cool and keeps your body energetic.
  • Two - three days before exam don't solve any mock. Just revise the formula and go through the questions which you have noted in your notebook.
  • And the most important point is that never enter the examination hall with a view of attempting the whole paper or scoring 180+ or 190+.
  • Be optimistic and make your mindset that you will give your 100% performance, no matter what its consequences.
