Suggestions for SSC CGL Online Examination

The Staff Selection Commission is the central recruitment agency, which recruit the candidates for several Group C and Group D posts in the ministries and departments of the Central Government. This year the examination was going to be conducted in the month of May but now it will be conducted in the month of August. This will be first time that the examination will be conducted through online mode. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has abolished personal interview from the recruitment process and the Commission has included a descriptive paper in the examination. The final recruitment of the candidates for the post will be done on the basis of their score in the main examination and descriptive paper. Now as the candidates have to undergo the examination through online mode, they need to prepare for it accordingly. They need to learn the basics of computer and have to get the hold of the mouse. Now candidates have to prepare for the test keeping in the alterations made in the pattern.

Things to do During the Online Examination

As now the examination will be conducted online, the candidates must go through the questions at once.

The T ier I examination of SSC CGL will contain overall 100 questions of two mark each, so the paper will be of 200 marks. This is broadly divided into four sections namely General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and English Comprehension. Candidates should attempt the questions carefully as 0.50 marks will get deducted for every wrong answer made by them.

The candidates have to complete the examination in 75 minutes. They have to attempt the questions within the stipulated time period. They should prepare the examination keeping in mind the time limit for the test. They should devote proper time to every subject.

Candidates now have to undergo through a offline descriptive test of 100 marks either in Hindi or English. The candidates need to complete this test in 60 minutes. The candidates are advised to go through the paper once and must separate the strong and weak questions before starting to attempt them.

The candidates must go through the changes made in the examination pattern before starting preparing for it. They should get the hold of the computer as the test will be conducted online. They must go through the official notification of SSC to get all the details of the pattern.

Things not to do During the Online Test

  • Aspirants must not fear the new examination pattern and should make sure that they have done practice before going for the test.
  • They should stay confident and should not feel nervous during the test. They should examine the questions carefully and should try to find out their answers.
  • They should follow all the instructions given at the first page and should not bring anything like electronic gadgets, calculators, camera and papers in the examination hall. Their candidature will get cancelled if they get caught using any such devices.
  • The aspirants must not try to cheat from any source like cheating chits and internet during the time of the examination.
  • If they find themselves stuck in any specific question, then they should not devote much time in solving it as this will consume a lot of time. They have to finish the paper in the given time period, so they must not devote much time to any one question.
  • They must not rely on their guesses about the answer of the question as this can prove drastic. The negative marks for every wrong answer will reduce their chances of getting selected for the post.

As the lot of changes has been made by the commission in the pattern, they must undergo the official notification of the commission. They should start preparing for the test by following a proper preparation strategy and with 100% dedication.
