Tips to Improve English for SSC/Banking Examination

English Language Section is an important section for every competitive examination. This section is now included in almost every competitive and entrance examination. In this article, we are going to discuss a few essential tips by following which candidates hold command over this language and score good marks in their tests.

First of all everybody should know that there is no shortcut to learn and obtain efficiency over this language. One has to be dedicated and really willing to learn the language to score good in this section. Comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, etc. are the domains from which the questions are framed in the examination. So, the candidates have to be strong in all these areas for good scoring. Below are some essential tips for improving English:

1. Be confident. Don't be afraid of anything. Mistakes are the signs that you are trying to learn and improve.

2. Surround yourself with people, who are good at English speaking. Put-yourself in an environment where you get to listen and speak in English.

3. Practice more and more with dedication and concentration. Make a routine and stick to it.

4. Practice the skills like speaking, reading, listening and writing. These all will help you in improving the hold on the language.

5. Try to learn a few new words on daily and for remembering them all for long try to use them in your speaking and also try to frame a few sentences by using them.

6. Set daily goals and try to achieve them.

7. Know what strategy of learning helps you and follow it religiously. Try to know what methods have worked for you earlier.

8. Take help of other's and if you don't understand anything then take help of other's to make you understand what you haven't understood.

9. Try to do self study daily for the language for about 30 minutes.
10. Newspaper are a great source of learning language, so you should read newspaper daily and should focus on the type of sentences given in them. Look for the meaning of words in dictionary.

11. If you don't understand the meaning of a particular word then look at the other words around it to understand the comprehensive meaning of the sentence.

12. Try to learn some root words such as min-small, scrub write and so on.

13. Make use of English language as much as you can and pay attention what you are saying.

14. Maintain a diary and try to write something on daily basis about anything like how was your day, how felt about something, etc.

15. Don't give up. Try until you don't achieve success. Stay positive and faithful.

16. Discuss about something in group. This will increase your knowledge and also you will get to know about your mistakes whenever the other person will point it out.

17. Use internet. Learn pronunciation from it and also listen to something in English.

18. Keep in mind that you are never old to learn something new. So, keep on trying.
