In this article, we are going to discuss advantages and disadvantages of both the sectors.

SSC CGL & PSU Jobs: Which one to go for?

Now-a-days it can be observed that several Engineering candidates are now taking part in SSC CGL jobs just because of lack of employment opportunities they get after engineering instead of taking GATE examination which are mainly conducted for jobs in Maharatna Companies like ONGC, BHEL, GAIL, etc. There must be something very attractive about SSC jobs due to which more and more candidates are getting attracted towards it.

Pure Government Job:

Candidates after cracking SSC CGL examination get an employment which is purely government. UPSC is the best choice if one wants to join a job which is purely government but SSC also offers a reputed career to the candidates. On the other hand PSU jobs are not purely Government and it is possible that they get privatized in future. That's why SSC jobs attract more and more candidates towards it.

Job Stability & Security:

Job security matters a lot for the candidates these days and it is one of the most determining factors about the job. In SSC jobs offer more and more job security to the candidates which is incomparable to any other job expect UPSC jobs. PSU are also attractive but these do not offer that much job security to the candidates. In government jobs candidates cannot lose job until and unless they have done something illegal. PSU jobs are also stable but one should keep in mind that organizations are there to make profit.

SSC is a Comfortable Job:

In SSC Jobs working hours are less and these jobs are mostly desk based and thus are more comfortable than PSU Jobs. In these jobs candidates are able to manage both family and office life. While in PSU jobs there is in comparison more work pressure and it makes it difficult for the employees to manage both work and family life together.

Authority:

If you are looking for some government job then surely you are looking for a job which offers you with some authority. In PSU jobs one does not get that much power but through SSC jobs one gets a lot of power to take decision.

Transfers:

In PSU jobs transfers are always an issue. Attractive salary with urban job postings is all that a candidate need from his job. In PSU jobs one can get transferred to any place and that is a problem for the candidates.
